Motor Vehicular Traffic Accident

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 30, 2018) - Motor vehicular traffic accident transpired at National Highway of Purok 3, Barangay Tigbao, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 10:40 AM of December 29, 2018.

The vehicle involved was one (1) unit Suzuki Swift, color red, bearing plate number UF 0571, registered under the name of April Arra Cordero Cortes, resident of Purok Talisay Malaubang, Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental, driven by Jayne Bernadeth Cordero Kutscher, 26 years old, married, self-employed and resident of Purok, Talisay Malaubang, Ozamis City together with three (3) passengers identified as:

        Mother Vilma Cordero, 55 years old;

        Sister Ma. Arjay Criste Cordero, 21 years old and

        Jonathan Kutscher, 36 years old.

Investigation conducted disclosed that subject vehicle was traversing from National Highway of Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay bound to Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental and upon reaching at the above-mentioned place of incident tried to overtook other vehicle which was running in same direction.

When suddenly a stray dog crossed the road, thereby the driver exerted effort to avoid possible accident but was overshot to the right shouldering of the road and crashed to the banana plants.

As a result, the driver sustained injury on his neck and was brought to Pagadian City Medical center for medical treatment. The three (3) passengers were not injured during the accident, while the vehicle incurred major damage.

1 minor injured in Motor Vehicle Traffic Accident

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (Dec. 15, 2018) – One minor was injured in Motor vehicle traffic accident (MVTA) transpired along National Highway particularly at Purok Pechay, Begong Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:50 AM of December 14, 2018.

Investigation conducted by Tigbao MPS disclosed the vehicle involved in the accident was one Izuzu Truck Drop side, color yellow, bearing plate number MFT 408, registered under the name of Rafael Corsal Sarmiento with postal address of Lagumbingan, Midsayap, Cotabato and driven by Arnold Salindro y Pelotindos, 43 years old, married, driver by occupation.

The victim was a Pedestrian identified as a 15 years old single, student, and a resident of Barangay Motor-Sawa, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation further disclosed that (Izuzu Truck Drop side) was travelling along the national highway in route to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay coming from Cagayan de Oro City and upon reaching the descending portion of the above mentioned place.

The said vehicle sideswiped/ bumped the victim to the front signal light (passenger side) that resulted the accident. Victim sustained physical injuries and immediately transported to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center, Dao Pagadian City for treatment.

The Driver and vehicle involved was released from the custody of Tigbao MPS after both parties agreed to settle the problem.

17 injured in Road Crash Accident in Zamboanga Del Sur

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (Nov. 8, 2018) – Seventeen persons were injured in motor vehicular traffic accident (Self Accident) transpired along the National Highway of Purok 3, Barangay Tigbao, Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:20 AM of November 7, 2018,

The accident was involving one unit Toyota Hi-ace Commuter Van, 2017 model, color Silver Metallic, bearing plate number ADO 9556, driven by Orlando Ocampo y Simblante, 42 years old, Married, Driver, resident of Purok 4, Poblacion Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur fell at the right deepest portion (estimated measurement of 5 meters Deep) of the aforementioned place coming from Pagadian City going to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. 

The following people (passengers) on board were identified as follows:

1.   Charmange B. Merontos, 28 years old, single, student and resident of Paglaum, Dumalinao,Zamboanga del Sur

2.   Maria Rollylus B. Jawel, 52 years old, married, resident of Banale, Pagadian City

3.   Arnulfo P. Jawel, 48 years old, resident of Barangay Banale, Pagadian City,

4.   Semin A. Amboangan Jr.,31 years old, married, resident of Poblacion Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay

5.   Maria Nura S. Labiaga, 67 years old, married, of Barangay Kapatagan, Alicia, Zambo. Sibugay,

6.   Ivy F. Paclibar, 25 years old, single, of Barangay Villacastor, Buug, Zambo. Sibugay,

7.   Leken F. Bari, 29 years old, married, of Barangay Villacastor, Buug, Zambo Sibugay,

8.   Teresita R. Caudia, 57 years old, married, of Barangay Bomba, Pagadian City, 

9.   Merryjoy Maguinda, 15 yers old, single, of Barangay Sioran Godod, Zamboanga Del Norte,

10.   Glaidylle C. Solis, 21 years old, single,of Barangay Begong tigbao Zambo. Sur,

11.   Mayjie M. Ardiente, 35 years old, Single, of Kawit, Pagadian City,

12.   Vicky P. Lagchana, 48 years old, Married, of Begong Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur,

13.   Julito R. Campus, 37 years old, married, of Guinoman, Diplahan, Zambo. Sibugay,

14.   Melanie A. Campus, 24 years old, married, of Guinoman, Diplahan, Zambo. Sibugay,

15. a 6 years old, child resident of Guinoman, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay,

16. a 2 years old, child resident of Guinoman, Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay,

17.   Heidilou S. Sumamban, 22 years old, single, of Begong, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigation disclosed  that above-mentioned vehicle (Toyota Hiace Van) was navigating the national highway coming from Pagadian City bound for Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay with 17 persons on board including Two children in a regular speed and upon reaching the place of accident, the  driver was surprisingly saw one single Motorcycle was about to crash along the national highway occupying their right lane and in order  to evade the contact, the driver maneuvered his vehicle (Toyota Hiace) to the right shouldering of the road and unable to manage the same and unfortunately fell at the deepest portion of the above-mentioned place which resulted to the accident.

The Driver revealed that he exerted effort to avoid the contact and save the lives especially the people on board of his driven vehicle but prove futile.

Said Vehicle has 17 persons on board and 2 of them are Children, 8 people sustained multiple physical injuries and immediately brought to Tigbao Rural Health Unit for medication thereafter referred to Zamboanga del Medical Center, Dao Pagadian City.

The Toyota Hiace Van was incurred major damages to the different parts, while the driver (Toyota Hiace Van) was fortunately unharmed and brought to Tigbao Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

2 injured in Road Crash Accident

TIGBAO, Zamboanga Del Sur (Sept. 27, 2018) – Two persons were injured inTraffic accident transpired along the National Highway particularly at Purok Makugihon, Barangay Begong Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 7:45 AM of September 25, 2018.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that while the Single Motorcycle Suzuki, color red, with plate number 090109, driven by Benjamin Celebrado Jr. y Palanas, 43 years old, married, security guard and a residence of Purok Hillside, Upper- Nilo Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur was allegedly sideswiped one pedestrian.

The victim identified as Flora Lico y Alvarado, 47 years old, married, housewife and a residence of Purok Makugihon, Begong, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Investigation revealed that above-mentioned single motorcycle was navigating the national highway from Pagadian City bound for Barangay Upper- Nilo, Tigbao, Zamboaga del Sur and upon reaching the place of incident, said single motorcycle was accidentally sideswiped the victim while walking along road.

Victim sustained physical injuries and immediately transported to Cabahog Hospital, Pagadian City for medication while the motorcycle driver sustained minor physical injuries and brought to Tigbao Rural Health Clinic for medical treatment.

Suspect Surrendered for Hacking his brother

TIGBAO, ZamboSur (June 29, 2018) –  The Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Longmot, Tigbao municipality of this province turn-over to Tigbao MPS the person as suspect of hacking incident on June 27, 2018 at about 4:00 PM.

Police identified person as Ronel Estrael Nano, 29 years old, single, farmer and a resident of Purok Paglaum, Barangay Guilin, Tigbao Zamboanga del Sur.

The said person is the suspect of killing his elder brother identified as Jimboy Estrael Nano, 33 years old, single, farmer and resident of Purok Paglaum, Barangay Guinlin, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur.

Said suspect was voluntary surrendered to Francisco P. Actoy at about 2:00pm of June 27, 2018.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that on or about 2:00pm of June 26, 2018, suspect killed his elder brother at their forested house situated at Purok Paglaum, Guinlin, Tigbao, when the victim quarreled with his father and about to hack it and when the suspect arrived therein, then and there, he immediately pacified the commotion.

However, the victim Jimboy was then facing to the suspect Ronel and they were grappling each other and luckily said suspect was able to disarmed the victim, accordingly the victim’s bolo was used by the suspect in the killing and a piece of wood by hitting the head of the victim several times that resulted to his instantaneous death.

Further disclosed the victim was already buried by the suspect at the forested area of Purok Paglaum, barangay Guinlin, Tigbao, Zamboanga del sur. Motive of the incident is misunderstanding.

Campaign against Illegal Logging

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 23, 2018) – Tigbao Municipal Police Station (MPS) received a cellphone call from Punong Barangay Joy Balandra of Begong, Tigbao municipality of this province stated that Illegal Logging transpired at Sitio Woodland of said barangay on June 22, 2018 at about 8:30 am.

Upon receipt of the report, PNP Team of Tigbao MPS responded together with Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) personnel led by Edilberto C. Obenza, Forest Ranger, immediately proceeded to the above mentioned place.

The operating team successfully arrested the suspect identified as Alberto Tooso Galdiano, 25 years old, single, Chainsaw Operator, with postal Address of Barangay Awa, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

Items Confiscated were the following: one (1) round log of Falcata Tree with estimated volume of 2.93 cubic meter; and one (1) unit STHIL Chainsaw bearing serial number S17779390.

Suspect and confiscated items were brought to Tigbao Police Station for documentation and turned- over to PENRO office for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges in court.

Rape Suspect Cuffed in Tigbao

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (June 19, 2018) - The PNP team of Tigbao Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested the suspect of rape during the conduct of joint manhunt operation against wanted person at Purok 2 Gumahan, Barangay Limas, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about at about 7:15 o’clock in the morning of June 16, 2018.

The police operatives identified the arrested person as Norel Gamboa Y Galemit alias “Langlang”, 34 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay Limas, Tigbao, Zamboagnas del Sur.

The said wanted person was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Rape docketed under criminal case number issued by Hon. Ma. Theresa H. Aban- Camannong, Presiding Judge, RTC 10th Judicial Region, Branch 9, Malaybalay City, dated May 8, 2018, charged for the crime of Rape in relation to Republic Act (R.A) 7610, docketed under Criminal Case No. 31783-18 with no bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty.

The accused is now detained at Tigbao MPS detention cell while waiting for final adjudication from court. (By J. CADION)

Thirteen assorted firearms turned-over to Tigbao MPS

Thirteen assorted firearms voluntary turned-over to Tigbao MPS by the Barangay Chairmen.

On May 29, 2018 at about 10:00 AM, The Barangay Chairman Jaime Ulo of Barangay Maragang, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur turned over and surrendered to Tigbao MPS his seven assorted firearms:

Three (3) unit improvise shotgun;

One (1) unit sumpak;

One (1) unit caliber 45 with ammunition;

One (1) unit caliber 38with ammunition;

One (1) unit caliber 45 m1911 A1 FS G1 with serial no.1408643.

At about 04:30 PM of May 29, 2018 Barangay Chairman Armando Bucog of Barangay Lacupayan, Tigbao also turned over and surrendered to Tigbao MPS his following firearms:

One (1)unit homemade 20 gauge with ammunition;

One (1) unit improvise 12 gauge (sumpak)with ammunition;

Two (2) unit homemade 38 cal. Revolver with ammunition.

While Barangay Manolito Villapas of Barangay Diana countryside, Tigbao turned over and surrendered his following firearms:

One (1) unit homemade 38 cal. Revolver,

One (1) unit homemade 38 cal. Revolver with ammunition.

Said firearms were now under the custody of Tigbao MPS for safekeeping.

Woman Arrested for Slander in Tigbao

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (May 18, 2018) – A woman was arrested for Slander Case during the operation (Service of Arrest Warrant) by the personnel of Tigbao Municipal Police Station at Purok 7, Barangay Poblacion, Tigbao of this province Saturday at about 11:20am.

Police identified the arrested suspect as Edmarie Naong Gaan, 22 years old, single, and resident of Purok 1, Barangay Maragang of this municipality.

The accused was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. Pacifico Cimafranca Jr., Presiding Judge, 8th MCTC, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur for the Crime of Serious Slander docketed under Criminal Case Number 3426-T with bail bond recommended of six thousand pesos (PHP 6,000.00).

Subject person is now temporary detained at Tigbao MPS awaiting court disposition. (By JONG CADION)

Suicide Incident in Tigbao

TIGBAO, Zamboanga Del Sur (April 26, 2018) – The suicide incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay Busol, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:40 AM on April 25, 2018.

The victim was identified as Danny Boy Pilapil Pelayo, 21 years old, single, operator of Mana Rice Mill of Purok 7, Barangay Nilo, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur and resident of said place.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim went to the house of his brother in law Jonilo Maano Perez at Purok 7, Barangay Nilo, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur on April 24, 2018 at about 8:00pm.

The victim and his brother in law were having drinking session thereat, while on the course of their drinking session, the latter (brother in law) confronted the former (victim) about the health of their horse, which was entrusted by the victim. The victim replied and insisted that he take care of the horse.

The victim cried and left the area and proceeded to the house of his sister Vicenta Quimbo located at Purok 3, Barangay Busol, Tigbao, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Unfortunately, on the following day of April 25 at about 5:00am, Vergelio Cejas Y Villarobia, found the victim hanging at the tree at Purok 3, Barangay Busol, Tigbao of this province.

The victim committed suicide by using stranded electrical wire and tied on his neck.

The Investigator on case Spo4 Alberto O. Capadngan said that the initial motive of the incident believed to be a depression. The personnel of

8 Individuals Held for Illegal Gambling

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (April 23, 2018) – 8 persons were arrested by the joint PNP operating troops of Tigbao MPS together with Provincial Anti-Illegal Gambling Special Operation Task Group (PAIGSOTG) conducted police operation (Anti-Illegal Gambling Operation) at Purok 7, Barangay Maragang of this municipality Thursday at 11:00am.

The operation resulted to the arrest of eight (8) personalities who were caught in the act engaged in the illegal horse fighting. The 8 individual personalities identified namely: Charlemagne Berbanio Y Traya alias “Ecloy”, 44 years old, married, a resident of Purok 7, Brgy. Maragang, Tigbao, who acted as promoter; Lorenso Gaston Y Albatera, 42 years old, married, residing at Purok 6, Brgy. Lacupayan, Tigbao, ZDS, the horse owner; Jeffrey Jacob Y Gallegos, 24 years old, single, residing at Purok 5, Brgy. Gatub, Kumalarang, horse owner; Abdulwahab Pangulima Y Balimbingan, 45 years old, married, residing at Poblacion Kumalarang, as the referee; Crisvic Ogoc Y Gabule, 32 years old, married, residing at Brgy. Malasik, Dumalinao, - bettor; Elvin Ian Rabe Y Dela Victoria, residing at Purok Durian, Brgy.  Malasik, Dumalinao, Reden Abuga-A Y Pabayos, 49 years old, married also residing at Brgy. Malasik, Dumalinao, - bettor; and Ricky Camporedondo Y Pagasian, 41 years old, married a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Gatub, Kumalarang, - bettor.

The operating team confiscated Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00) as bet money, whistle, tape measure, two (2) male fighting horses and one (1) female horse.

Arrested persons and evidences recovered are now under the custody of Tigbao MPS for proper documentation and disposition. Tigbao MPS case investigator PO3 Mark Errol P Templa is now conducting follow-up investigation for filing appropriate criminal charges against the suspect.

Unidentified cadaver found in Tigbao

TIGBAO, Zamboanga Del Sur (April 20, 2018) – An unidentified dead body was found Friday at about 6:00am in Purok 4, Barangay Lacupayan of this municipality.

The unidentified male cadaver was lying in a prone position at the shoulder of the road. He sustained wound on his head, contusion/bruises circling on his neck. Description of the human cadaver with mushroom haircut, artificially blonde, with tattoos quote “ Trivial Tattoo on the right shoulder, right arm wrist, Marlou figure tattoo at the left side of his body, rose, rosary, spade symbol tattoo on the right portion of his body”.

The victim has no identification cards, no slippers, wearing black sweatshirt, black long pants, aging 20 to 25 years old, 5’0 to 5’2” in height. Tigbao MPS then requested the SOCO Crime Laboratory, Camp Abelon, Pagadian City for proper processing of the crime scene with the presence of Dr. Grayvimin S. Figueras, Municipal Health Officer of Tigbao Rural Health Unit. After the processing of the scene there was no pieces of evidence recovered.

Tigbao MPS case investigator PO2 Christian Harris Jakiri B. Carcallas is now conducting follow-up investigation to identify the identity of the victim as well as the cause of death and the weapon used. 7 person injured in Tigbao vehicular Traffic Accident

TIGBAO, Zamboanga del Sur (April 1, 2018) – 7 person boarded a passenger Van were injured in a vehicular accident transpired at Barangay Lacupayan in this municipality on Saturday March 31 at 1:15 pm.

Initial investigation conducted by Tigbao Municipal Police Station disclosed that the passenger Van Nissan, color silver driven by Roland Balansag Labiaga, 57 years old, married a resident of 0102 Datoc St., Pagadian City.

The van traversing the National Highway came from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay bound for Pagadian City. Upon reaching the aforementioned place of accident the vehicle lapsed the under construction one lane Deorox Bridge and crashed at the right lane shouldering and fell down beyond the concrete canal that resulted in the said incident.

The seven (7) passengers on board sustained slight physical injuries were brought to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center in Brgy. Dao, Pagadian City.

The victims were identified namely as Dolores Hugo Busmion 83 years old, ROSITA Mirral Busmion 65 years old, Ruben Montilla Dayday 49 years old, Mergie Ybanez Entia 44 years old, Rechie Sagga Sumusao 25 years old, Jerson Jimenez Codino 21 years old, and Princess Lazaga Rivera, 18 years old.

The vehicle incurred damages on the left side portion and was still at the place of incident waiting to be towed and the pertinent documents temporarily on custody of Tigbao MPS for proper disposition.
